Sutherland Shire FAW Meetings
Writing can be an isolated, lonely pursuit.
If you feel you would benefit from the support and encouragement of other writers, then come along to a meeting and see if it's what you're looking for.
Our meeting structure varies from month to month.
Once we have taken care of official business (the first 30mins) we share our latest submissions and achievements, then onto some hands-on writing practice.
We invite guest speakers to run writing exercises and workshops, and we also have open mic sessions where we share our latest work with the group.
And, of course, there's always time for a cuppa and a biscuit. Afternoon tea is provided on a roster basis. (NOTE: COVID restrictions require you to BYO-AT for the near future).
HOW MUCH: There is a $10 charge for attending the first meeting - with no obligation to join FAW.
After that, you will need to join NSW FAW
($45 per year for full membership / $20 under 21 youth rate). This gets you a subscription to the FAW quarterly magazine "The Writers Voice" and other member benefits.
Plus a yearly branch fee of $60 which covers the meeting room booking and afternoon tea.
WHERE: Sutherland Multi-Purpose Community Hall, 123 Flora Street, Sutherland
