Writers write.

The Fellowship of Australian Writers is here to help, support and encourage you in your writing.

Our group is made up of new and experienced writers - you're one of those, aren't you?

NEW MEMBERS WELCOME

Who are we?

The Sutherland Shire branch of the Fellowship of Australian Writers is a place to meet locals who share your passion for writing. We meet once a month to share our writing skills and knowledge and to celebrate each other's achievements.

Our members are published authors, new and emerging writers and those who just like to dabble in all things writing.

We invite established authors to our meetings to share their tips and tricks. Workshops and author talks cover all genres and themes.

We hope to see you at our next meeting.

What we do...

The Sutherland FAW is involved in many community initiatives to support and champion local new and emerging writers.

Our main focus is the Writers Unleashed: The Sutherland Shire Writers Festival, now in its 11th year.
The festival attracts high profile Australian presenters and is run entirely through the voluntary efforts of our members.

We also co-ordinate a Picture Book Writing Competition, offering $800 in prizes, along with a chance to win a mentorship with Clare Hallifax, from Scholastic Australia.

And we are proud partners of the Spark Creative Writing Competition, providing opportunity for high school children of the Shire to develop and showcase their skills.

We also pop up at local market days, festivals and seniors expos, etc.
If you can't make it to our meetings, you can always join us on Facebook.
